Marshall O’Keefe, AIPMM is the Corporate Innovation Officer at HED, where he shapes how technology, data, and design intersect across the firm’s integrated practice. With nearly three decades in the AEC industry, Marshall brings a rare blend of technical fluency and creative thinking, informed by a career that spans mechanical engineering, industrial design, and the arts.
His leadership has powered transformative change across the firm, from enabling AI adoption and building internal planning tools to integrating a dozen acquisitions and designing enterprise-level systems like HED’s proprietary CRM. A member of the Board of Directors and Corporate Leadership Team, Marshall bridges strategy with execution, helping teams work smarter, think bigger, and innovate with purpose.

Randy E. Gibson

Gresham Smith | Chief Strategy Officer
Randy Gibson serves as the Board Chair of the Innovation Design Consortium (IDC) Board of Directors and currently holds the role of Senior Advisor following his tenure as Chief Strategy Officer at Gresham Smith. Throughout his career, Randy has guided the development and implementation of enterprise-level strategies that shape long-term direction and strengthened growth across the U.S. and abroad. He is committed to elevating the client experience by championing multi market collaboration, integrated delivery models, and forward-looking initiatives that bring meaningful value to clients and partners.
Randy’s leadership within the Innovation Design Consortium aligns seamlessly with his work at Gresham Smith. As IDC Board Chair, he will help drive the consortium’s mission to collectively develop tools, platforms and industry advancing initiatives that enhance design and project delivery across the A/E/C industry. His work supports IDC’s four strategic focus areas—Data-Sharing Platform, Performance & Sustainability, Operational Efficiencies, and Redefining Project Delivery. Through this role, Randy will contribute to setting clear goals and future plans that cultivate collaboration, accelerate technology development, and advance open-source and shared-industry resources.
Randy has held significant leadership positions throughout his career, including serving as President of Dewberry’s architectural practice, where he led the integration of a 250 person acquisition, guided the successful purchase of an additional firm, and managed full enterprise P&L responsibilities.
He remains active in shaping the future of the profession through his service on the University of Tennessee Tickle College of Engineering Board of Advisors. Additionally, he had been a long standing member of the AIA Large Firm Roundtable (LFRT), serving on its Executive Committee as Vice Chair since 2017 and leading the organization’s Legal Committee.

Frederick Braggs

Frederick Braggs is the financial leader at LPA, where he serves as a strategic partner to align the firm’s business priorities with its core mission. With over 20 years of experience in the architecture and engineering industry, Frederick oversees treasury, budgeting, tax planning, and real estate activities, focusing on sustained profitability and operational excellence.
His extensive background includes managing the financial oversight of large-scale projects across the U.S., China, and the United Arab Emirates. Beyond traditional accounting, Frederick is known for fostering transparent client relationships and developing management systems that enhance financial performance. At LPA, he is instrumental in refining recruitment processes and improving the employee career experience. He also bridges the gap between design and business by educating senior leaders on financial stewardship.
An associate member of the AIA and NOMA, Frederick holds an MBA from Pennsylvania State University and completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University.

Roxanne Malek

During her career, Roxanne has been pushing the boundaries of design — in the most holistic sense – through sustainability, artistry, technology, constructability, and the pursuit of an engaging client experience. Roxanne is a currently Managing Partner at SmithGroup, overseeing the firm’s projects and talent across 19 locations and over 1400 staff. A graduate of Cornell University and dedicated practitioner, she has led numerous science & technology projects, launched SmithGroup’s Northern California Higher Education Studio, and served as Director of Operations.

Brad grew up as the son of a contractor and never recognized a silo between builders and architects. Today, he oversees our global design firm that encompasses architecture, engineering, consulting, physical asset management, software solutions and modular design. He harnesses innovative and ground-breaking ideas within CannonDesign and drives forward a firm — founded in 1945 — that continues to accelerate, command and propel design as a cross-disciplinary disrupter.

Janet Simpson

Janet Simpson is the President and CEO of TVS, an Atlanta-based commercial architecture and interior design firm with a global presence. Founded in 1968, TVS is renowned as one of the world’s leading designers of convention centers and operates substantial practices in multiple sectors, including hospitality, cultural centers, offices, workplaces, education, sports, multi-family housing, healthcare, and mixed-use facilities.
Janet joined TVS in 2007 as a member of the firm’s workplace interiors group, where she focused on workplace strategy and played a pivotal role in numerous high-profile projects. In 2017, she was appointed as the firm’s third President and CEO. Under her leadership, she initiated a restructuring that enhanced the firm’s ability to seize market opportunities and remain resilient during economic downturns. She has championed TVS’s commitment to demonstrate extreme care in creating transformative solutions and remarkable experiences.
A graduate of Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design, and Construction, Janet pursued her profession driven by a desire to design spaces that foster a better human experience—places where people can thrive, grow, learn, and flourish.
Janet is a frequent panelist at architecture industry conferences, where she discusses innovation and leadership within design firms. Her work has garnered multiple design awards, and her writings on productivity, design technology, and leading a 21st-century design firm have been featured in design publications.

Steve McConnell

Board chair and a managing partner of NBBJ, Steve McConnell oversees strategic planning and firm governance. Steve’s expertise as a design practitioner and organizational leader has been instrumental in shaping NBBJ’s skill at creating environments and experiences that enable pioneering clients to realize healthy, vibrant, and sustainable futures for their organizations.
Steve’s passion for NBBJ’s ideas-driven process has helped push creative frontiers with the development of the firm’s multidisciplinary platform, new technologies, R&D capabilities, and experience design expertise. During his tenure, NBBJ has been recognized as the most innovative architecture firm in the world by Fast Company and as a firm “redefining the future of practice” by Architectural Record.
Steve’s legacy of groundbreaking project work spans international, domestic, public and private markets – and include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Headquarters, Hong Kong’s Asia World Expo, Reebok’s World Headquarters, and United States courthouses in Billings, Bakersfield, and Seattle. His projects have received dozens of awards from AIA, business, real-estate, industry and government programs.
